A few weeks ago, I blogged that Scottish Power had announced a pretty hefty price increase for gas and I said then I didn’t think it would be the last time I mentioned this. At the weekend, British gas announced their increase of 20% for the price of gas. With the good news this week that the government will be encouraging companies and individuals to fell 10 million trees each year to cope with the demand for logs, at least this means that the price of wood is less likely to keep increasing significantly as there will be a plentiful supply of wood to meet the demand. Another goods reason to keep burning wood rather than gas!
