Flueless appliances were one of the hot topics on last night’s One Show on BBC One.
The One Show were saying that large do-it-yourself stores were not advising people when enquiring about Flueless stoves and fireplaces that they must be the secondary form of heating rather than the primary source and this was leading to alot of complaints from customers who now had problems with condensation.
The One Show were stressing that although large stores such as B & Q and John Lewis were great places to purchase paint, wall paper and household items from, they did not have the specialist knowledge required to sell products such as Flueless stoves and therefore never buy a Flueless fire from one of these stores - only buy them from recognised specialist retailers who have the knowledge and experience to sell you this type of product.
As a supplier of Flueless stoves, we whole heartedly agree with the advice given on the One Show.
Flueless stoves are very safe and efficient when sold through a trained stockist and installed by a professional, registered installer. If you are given the correct advice, a Flueless stove will give you the effect you are looking for without the drawbacks of condensation. It is vital that you follow the guidelines of correct room size, correct air brick size and you already have a from of heating in the room - if you follow these rules, you will have a stove which works correctly. If you don’t follow these rules then you will have problems.
It is just a shame that these large retailers try to sell products which they don’t have enough knowledge about as it just leads to giving these products a bad reputation.
Thank you to the One Show for pointing this out!
