Now is the time to start thinking about servicing your stove. It may only be May and hopefully we have a hot summer to look forward to but it is also the perfect time to take a look at your stove and ensure it is serviced, ready for use in the Autumn. Your local stockist will be able to arrange for the appliance to be serviced professionally but you can also check the more simple parts of your stove yourself. If you have a woodstove, we recommend that you check the door rope seals - if they are looking worn out, replace them. This will make sure that no additional air is entering the stove which will burn the fuel faster. Check the grate and the baffle are in good condition. If they are showing signs of wear and tear, your dealer will able to provide replacement parts for you. The chimney should also be swept to make sure it is free from blockages. If you own a gas or oil stove, these should only be serviced by recognised service agents. Your local dealer will be able to provide a list of engineers they can recommend to you.
